Problem
While over 111,000 Australian women undergo fertility treatments annually, there was a significant gap in accessible, independent information about fertility clinic success criteria. Many families found the process mysterious and overwhelming, with no centralised resource to guide them in making informed decisions about their fertility journey.
Solution
To address this, we partnered with stakeholders at UNSW’s National Perinatal Epidemiology and Statistics Unit (NPESU) and the Fertility Society of Australia and New Zealand. Together, we developed "Your IVF Success," a federally funded platform that empowers families with education and transparent clinic data. We integrated a sophisticated algorithm into an easy-to-use fertility estimator and provided success rates for over 100 fertility clinics across Australia. This comprehensive approach aimed to demystify the IVF process and help families make more informed decisions.
Results
The platform has seen consistent engagement, with regular site visits of 4,000 to 5,000 per month. The increasing awareness generated across multiple channels has contributed to helping Australian families, a crucial initiative given that 1 in 17 Australian babies is born via IVF.
